Working in conjunction with Dublin-based MTT, Pegasus will make the new technology available to its 78,000 Pegasus client hotels, starting with its Utell representation customers by early June. The new Mobile Reservation Services, compatible with virtually any mobile device, will allowguests to use their cell phone or PDA’s standard mobile Internet browser to make reservations, check booking details and view hotel information. Mike Kistner, Pegasus Chief Operating Officer and President of reservation and distributionServices, “Online booking and customer service are now standard for hotels, and this is why Pegasus has been dedicated to paving the way to the next frontier – mobile solutions.” Kistner said, “In a test pilot previously performed by MTT, the mobile reservations technology helped hotels increase conversion rates for hotel promotions by more than 10 percent. This is a compelling example that shows hoteliers the opportunity that the mobile channel presents to boost revenue.” A release stated: “Pegasus’ Mobile Reservation Services utilises MTT’s mobile travel technology platform, M2B, to the advantage of both hotels and customers. With the platform, the Mobile Reservation Services handles thousands of different device, mobile browser and system combinations ensuring that the mobile screens are optimally displayed on users’ devices. The service works on virtually all mobile devices and across all mobile operator networks.” Gerry Samuels, Executive Director of MTT. “In our initial implementations of Pegasus-connected mobile services, we have found the service was easily accepted by customers. This fast adoption of the mobile Internet is great news for hotels looking for a new, simple and reliable service that fits with their integrated multi-channel marketing strategy.” Related news articles in Category: Other Share the wealth!
